Design excellence that strengthens our communities
The Central Washington chapter of the American Institute of Architects is a collaborative community of architects, design professionals, and allied partners dedicated to advancing the value and impact of architecture in our region.
We support our members through professional development, advocacy, and opportunities for connection, while promoting design excellence that strengthens our communities.
Rooted in the unique landscape and character of Central Washington, our chapter works to foster sustainable, resilient, and equitable built environments that enhance the quality of life for the people we serve. Inspired by the broader mission of AIA chapters nationwide, we strive to elevate the profession and engage the public in the power of thoughtful design.
Annual Design Awards
The AIA Central Washington Annual Design Awards celebrates excellence in architecture across our region, recognizing projects that demonstrate innovation, design quality, and positive community impact. The program highlights the work of our members and promotes public awareness of the value of thoughtful design in shaping Central Washington’s built environment.
Projects are evaluated by a distinguished jury of architects from outside the region to ensure an objective and diverse perspective. Awards may be given across a range of categories, including built work, unbuilt work, small projects, and emerging professionals.
Submissions are typically accepted in late spring, with a submission deadline in early summer. The jury process takes place shortly after, and award recipients are announced and celebrated at a Design Awards Event in early fall (September–October).
The Annual Design Awards program serves as an opportunity to recognize outstanding work, connect with peers, and elevate the visibility of architecture throughout Central Washington.
